The Fellowship of Brethren Homes' activities are diverse. Each year, this group utilizes the Association of Brethren Caregivers to provide a wide range of services. These activities include:

NEW! The Board Chair-Executive Partnership One-Day Seminary is available for Church of the Brethren, Mennonite and Friends affiliated retirement centers. Download a PDF file of the registration form that describes the purpose and presenters for this one-day seminar to be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., April 14, 2007, at Timbercrest Senior Living Community, North Manchester, Ind.

  • NEW! Long-term Care Insurance is now available to anyone connected with the Church of the Brethren. Click here for a document describing the program.

  • Offering information and an on-line resource from the Coalition to Advance Prescription Drug Education (CARxE) to assist seniors in enrolling in Medicare Part D. Click here to learn more about this resource.

  • Educating Church of the Brethren individuals and congregations about the important ministry Brethren Retirement Communities provide to care for older adults.

  • "The Burden of Uncompensated Care in Brethren Retirement Centers and the Church" is a brochure created by the Fellowship to explain the complicated issues and moral implications of uncompensated care. A printer-friendly PDF file of the brochure can be downloaded here.

  • Collaborating with Mennonite Health Alliance and Friends Services for the Aging on several projects. The Peace Church Purchasing Group allows Brethren Homes and other institutions to collaborate on group purchases. Peace Church Risk Retention Group is a self-governing liability group which provides an important service to many of the Brethren Homes. Peace Church Corporate Compliance is a collaborative effort to bring corporate compliance services to those homes seeking that service.

  • Strengthening the relationship between the Church of the Brethren and the retirement communities. With a grant from the Palms of Sebring, the Fellowship was able to produce the video “Inspired by Faith, Operated with Love.” This video can be used in training retirement community staff about the traditions and values of the Church of the Brethren. It can also be used to help churches and districts understand how retirement communities are part of the greater mission of the church. To order a copy, e-mail ABC and ask for a copy of "Inspired by Faith, Operated with Love."
