Special Events at NOAC

Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Women’s Ordination in the Church of the Brethren
Tuesday 4 – 5 p.m.
NOAC will observe the historic 1958 Annual Conference decision to grant women “full and unrestricted rights” of ordination with a special celebration recognizing the role of women in ministry during the last half-century and looking forward to the future.

Reunion of National Youth Conference (NYC) 1958 Participants
Wednesday 4 – 5 p.m.
How many of you who attended NYC 1958 at Lake Junaluska can remember the theme for that event? Here’s a hint: three words, first word starts with “O.”

You can relive NYC 1958 now by visiting the Photo Journal to see photos from the “good ol’ days” of NYC at Lake Junaluska. Then come to NOAC 2008 and join in recalling the fun you had, the friendships you formed, and the life-long impact of that special NYC at the celebration of its 50th reunion.

BVS Day is Thursday!
Brethren Volunteer Service (BVS) has a 60-year history of sharing God’s love through acts of service. Throughout the day, NOAC will celebrate BVS and the positive impact it, and its volunteers, have made on the world – serving basic human needs, working for peace, advocating justice, and maintaining the integrity of creation.

Well Walk
Thursday 7 a.m.
Put on your walking shoes for a cause and join us in the Well Walk around Lake Junaluska. This non-competitive event will support your well-being, and your donation will help supply water for the Church of the Brethren secondary school at the EYN headquarters in Nigeria!
