Who may use the Church of the Brethren logo
The Church of the Brethren logo was developed by the General Board for use by Church of the Brethren congregations and districts and by the agencies that report to Annual Conference.
Requests from other Church of the Brethren-related groups may be directed to the General Board’s Communication Team and will be considered on an individual basis. Church of the Brethren camps, homes, and similar agencies generally are permitted use of the logo if they are singularly related to the Church of the Brethren. (Common usage does not connote a binding legal relationship.)
As with the Church of the Brethren name, no group may use the logo to imply official sanction or a connection that does not exist.
All users are to respect the integrity of the design and color choices and adhere to stipulations regarding their use. Certain colors have been selected for exclusive use by major agencies of the church, such as the General Board and Annual Conference.
Design guidelines
When presented together, the logo and the Church of the Brethren name always are to appear in the same color. The logo should not be combined with other graphics or crowded by other elements on the page.
The Church of the Brethren name should appear in either Venetian or Centaur font style.
For letterhead, the paper stock recommended is light gray, wove finish, 24 lb. (or the more economical 20 lb.). PMS 438 dark brown ink (or black as a substitute) is used for the name of the church or agency in 9-point Helvetica bold type. The address and any other information appear in the same color ink in 9-point Helvetica light typeface. A second color of ink highlights the logo and Church of the Brethren name. For congregational use, the ink recommended is PMS 329 bluish green. For district use, the ink recommended is PMS 500 mauve. PMS 535 lavender has been restricted for use by the General Board.
