This album offers pictures of the Brethren Disaster Response clean up and repair project based in Citronelle, Ala., following Hurricane Katrina. The project is a cooperative venture of the Church of the Brethren General Board, the Cedar Creek Church of the Brethren in Citronelle, and the Southeastern District of the Church of the Brethren. Most of the work has been to clean up downed trees and to make minor repairs to homes. Major rebuilding of homes will not be able to start until after final assessments of the damage by FEMA and by insurance companies, and the settling of claims. The volunteers pictured here are from the first work crew from Southeastern District who opened the project and got things started.
